Who We Are?

The Asian Weekly is the first of its kind free publication for the Asian community in East Africa. It is a blend of a newspaper and magazine (paperzine) covering extensive society affairs, business, sports, entertainment and fashion news.
Incepted in August 2010, The Asian Weekly has penetrated its distribution in all major counties in Kenya as well as Uganda and Tanzania.
In the last six years, it has grown its circulation to 30,000 free copies per week with a readership of 250,000 people.


Our Milestones

  • Launched on August 27, 2010 – The Asian Weekly became one of its kind publication that opened doors to the greater community and thereby serving the interests of all communities under one platform.
  • The Asian Weekly Achievers Awards (TAWAA) – first of its kind awards ceremony that brings all communities, business, sports, fashion and entertainment fraternity together.
  • Awards Ceremonies Coverage – We are the only Asian media to have covered the International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA) six years in a row, the Cannes Film Festival four times consecutively and the Times of India Film Awards (TOIFA) once, paving the way for others.
  • Coffee Table Unique Diwali Edition – Championing the pathway in innovative design and concepts, The Asian Weekly’s Diwali edition is one to watch out for every year.
  • Campaigns for Wellbeing – Promoting healthy eating and fitness has been our core mantra at The Asian Weekly. Through campaigns titled Lifestyle Challenge and I Dare To Dazzle, we have impacted the lives of various readers who hoped to adopt a healthy lifestyle.
